Desert Sol is NAFI's newest HUD Section 811 PRAC acquisition and rehabilitation of a 14 unit apartment complex. The single story units include all major appliances, furnished by the owner, and specialty items for those who are visually and/or physically impaired. The project has been designed to serve individuals determined seriously mentally ill (SMI) and/or living with physical disabilities. Laundry equipment is included on site and the grounds include usable yard space and parking.

Eight of the units in the project will be occupied by individuals who have been determined SMI. SMI individuals who are visually impaired or legally blind will be provided with an additional preference at admissions.

Six of the units will be occupied by individuals who have been deemed physically disabled as they are either 1) legally blind or 2) severely visually impaired. Individuals with additional physical disabilities will be eligible provided they meet the qualifications of being either legally blind or severely visually impaired.
