NAFI's Sober Homes is a program that has been developed for adults who have a history of problems with alcohol and/or substance abuse and who have a Seriously Mentally Ill diagnosis (SMI) and choose recovery as their priority. SMI's wishing to reside in Independent Living Communities and are prepared to make the transition from residential treatment are provided safe and stable environments that include In-Home Supportive Services. NAFI's supportive services goals include:
- Assisting with residential stability by providing service-enriched and assisted housing
- Assisting with education and employment opportunities
- Providing resources, tools and support that help achieve personal goals and greater self-determination
- Providing services and access to support in order to maintain mental stability and physical sobriety
Supportive Services available to residents in NAFI's Sober Homes range from fiduciary services to recreational activities. A partial listing of services includes: Individual Living Skills, individual counseling, Outpatient counseling and treatment, and Substance abuse recovery support and prevention, Socialization activities, and Employment development and opportunities.
